Leigh Meinig and I sponsor Student Council here at Century. Everyone is welcome to join Student Council. We are involved in many activities here at Century that help improve our school. We organize and read the announcements, run the student store, have many fundraisers and bake sales throughout the year to help out many charities (ex: The Giving Tree, Food Banks, Hearts for Huntington), organize the socials, and many other activities. Most importantly, Student Council sets a tone at Century Middle School about the importance of leadership and caring. Please click here for a link to meeting dates and other information.
About the Teacher:
I was born and raised in Moore, Oklahoma. I moved to Broomfield with my family when I was a junior in high school in 2000. I attended Northglenn High School and graduated in 2002. Then I attended CU Boulder and received my BA in History and Secondary Education in December 2006. My first job was at a middle school in Denver in the spring of 2006. This is my third year teaching at Century Middle School. This year I am excited to be the co-sponsor of Student Council with Leigh Meinig. I have been married for 2 years to my husband Rocky. My husband and I are in a band together and we play a lot of shows locally in Denver. We also have a cat named Merlin and a dog named Gypsy. I am very proud to be a teacher at Century Middle School home of the Comets! I know that this school year is going to be fantastic! I love history and geography and hope to instill a passion and understanding for Social Studies in all of my students. I also hope to inspire my students to become analytical and knowledgeable citizens of the world. As the school year progresses, please feel free to email or call me with any concerns or questions.
